Chloe Staffordshire Bull Terrier girl. Chloe is a small, petite girl who measures approx 15" to the shoulder who is around 5 years old . She is very friendly and greets in true stafford style, Chloe enjoys her walks and is quite keen, she could do with some further training but she is responsive and easily guided with a treat. Chloe enjoys a fuss and likes to sit on your knee, she is fine to be touched all over and will be a loyal companion to a lucky person who can see past her breed and see the real Chloe.
UPDATE: From one of our volunteers.
I had the pleasure of meeting Chloe yesteday and what a little sweetie, she has come in abit under weight but is slowly gaining weight now in a safe enviroment. Chloe looks like she has been a breeding machine, she may look abit rough around the edges but this sweet little girl is such a pleasure, she met my terrier and was happy to enjoy her walk with him. She does pull on her lead but because of her size it is not a major issue, she would need a home where she gets regular exercise to keep her happy but the one thing she would need above all else is a lap to cuddle up on as she loves a fuss.
This little cutie really would love a little lap to snuggle on.Chloe is like a little pixie small & sweet and adores human company.
She is pocket size & once she is out on her walk Pixie ( whoops Chloe) settles down nicely enjoying all the smells around her. She loves travelling in the car.
This little doggie reminds me constantly of how 'dogs can live in the moment' as I would imagine this little one hasn't had a great life so far but she makes me smile with her zest for doggy life.
She isn't the best looking dog at the rescue but to be honest 'never judge a book by its cover' she will return yout love over & over again and would make a great little companion.
Consider the lovely Chloe for 2012
UPDATE FROM CHLOE'S FOSTER MUM
Chloe is doing really well . She has put on weight and has now been spayed ( no more puppies for this little one). In true Pixie ( whoops Chloe ) style she gave everybody at the vets lots of kisses & cuddles and as per usual took everything in her stride. Sitting quietly on the chair in the waiting room with her new Christmas bandana and greeting everybody who came through the door.
Chloe really is a smashing little dog who loves lots of fuss ....she is brilliant with her commands and fits nicely on your lap where she will snooze for hours.
Chloe loves her ball and will spend all day chasing it & dropping it at your feet for you to throw it again...therefore very easy to exercise.
She loves travelling in the car and will sit quietly on the back seat watching the world go by.
Fen young lurcher. Fen is a very handsome boy, his pictures do not do him justice, he was too busy looking for a cuddle to pose for the camera. Fen is very cuddly and loves attention from people, he gets on well with other dogs too. He is a smashing walk, keen but not strong, responsive and alert. Fen will make a really easy going addition to a family , he doesn't ask for much, a comfy bed and a warm hearth and he will be a loyal companion for life.
Blade 3 yr old Terrier boy. Blade has been handed in through no fault of his own, he found the kennels very overwhelming but has been lucky enough to find a foster home, this is what his foster mum has to say about him. Blade is settling in well with us and is already coming out of his shell, he is not an overly fussy boy and he takes a little time to trust people before he is comfortable, he likes to be close though and follows me round the house religiously . He enjoys a fuss when he feels relaxed and especially having his back rubbed. Blade gets on well with other dogs in the home , although he is a bit unsure of the larger ones, he is not aggressive, he likes our terrier girl the best as she is not too boisterous and would like a new home as a only dog or with another small female companion.. Blade is clean in the house and asks to go out if he needs to, he is good on the lead and enjoys his walks. He pays no attention to horses, sheep or hens and he has met our cats through a baby gate with no reaction, in fact he was not interested at all. Blade will need a home where he can take things at his pace and a home with no children. He is a great little character and will be fun little companion.
For more info on Blade or to offer him a new home please email his foster mum at readjimbob@aol.com
Jake – young Labrador. Jake has had a terrible start in life; what traumas he has endured we can only guess. We believe he has been locked away without socialisation with people, dogs and the outside world. He came to us from the Pound in a very bad state; he had more or less shutdown and would not move. He was quickly put into a foster home and here is the update from his foster mum:
Jake has come to us on foster to learn what life as a dog should be like. Jake is living with several dogs – male/female – large and small. He is a little frightened of larger dogs, but gets on great with similar sized or smaller dogs and greets them very well.
He is making very slow steps to become socialised. Currently he is happy to explore the garden and is not interested in the outside world. He is frightened of leads and harnesses, and is just starting to learn that they will not harm him. He can then start to see what the world looks like. He does bark at things he is frightened of, but once he understands it will not hurt him, he gradually accepts them. This includes new people and general things. He is getting used to household noise, but is frightened if something has been put in a different place. He is toilet trained.
Jake likes to sleep a lot and likes the security of his bed and will need a secure area, a bed in a quieter corner or an open crate. He does sleep through the night, and is happy to be left, he is toilet trained, and could possibly live with cats after introductions.
Jake does not have an aggressive bone in his body, when frightened he flattens to the floor and will not move. Although, when he forgets his demons and he thinks that there are no people around, he becomes bright-eyed, waggy-tailed and tries to have a little play with his best friend a young Lab cross boy. He currently does not play with people or want to interact with you. He needs very slow and careful socialisation, which will be hard work and take months. It is not known at present whether Jake will ever become a fully rounded dog.
Jake does require a specific kind of home, a home that is experienced with rescue dogs and with other dog(s) which are confident but not too bouncy, he loves the company of an easy-going confident dog he can cuddle up to and share his bed with. It is unknown what he is like with children, at the moment the noise would frighten him. So he needs a home without children. He will need a very calm and quiet home with not too much hustle and bustle, just normal comings and goings. In a new home Jake will need time to adjust and given plenty of time to settle, you will need to be very patient and gentle with him.
